What is an enterprise password vault?
An enterprise password vault is a controlled repository that encrypts privileged credentials, governs who can use them and records their access. It protects administrator, root, service, database, cloud and network credentials from uncontrolled storage and sharing.
What is privileged access management?
Privileged access management, or PAM, secures powerful accounts and controls how elevated access is requested, approved, delivered, monitored and audited. PAM combines technology with identity, security and operational policies.
Is a password wallet the same as an enterprise password vault?
No. A password wallet primarily helps an individual store and use passwords. An enterprise vault adds organizational approval workflows, roles, rotation, time limits and centralized auditing for credentials that can affect critical systems.
How does PriviSphere protect privileged passwords?
PriviSphere combines AES-256 encrypted credential storage with role-based access control, multi-level approvals, password lifecycle policies, time-limited access, dashboard visibility and audit reporting.
What systems can PriviSphere protect?
PriviSphere supports privileged identities across Windows, Linux and UNIX; Azure, AWS and Google Cloud; SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL and MariaDB; VMware and Hyper-V; firewalls, routers and switches; applications and services; Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and LDAP.
Does PriviSphere support password rotation?
Yes. PriviSphere supports password rotation, expiry, complexity policies, password history and managed credential updates as part of the privileged credential lifecycle.
What is just-in-time privileged access?
Just-in-time access grants privileged access only when required and for a limited duration. Combined with one-time retrieval and automatic expiry, it reduces exposure from persistent privileged access.
Can privileged access require approval?
Yes. PriviSphere supports multi-level and role-based approvals. Requests can include business justification, incident references, change requests, maintenance activities and defined access duration.
What information is included in the audit trail?
The audit history can identify who requested access, who approved it, when it was used, which target system was accessed, the business purpose and the resulting session status.
How does PAM support compliance?
PAM supports compliance by enforcing access policy and maintaining centralized evidence of privileged requests, approvals, credential use and activity. PriviSphere is designed to support alignment with frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and internal security policies.
